Michael Dow was born in London in 1986. Influenced by his eldest brother from an early age his thirst & passion for dance music was fueled even more by then likes of Judge Jules’ Friday night shows on Radio 1 which soon developed into a curiosity for production. After toying around with Music on the Sony Playstation and Dance Ejay Michael's enthusiasm soon developed and he went in search of a new program he could do more with. At the age of 16 he began working on Fruity Loops and was soon at a level where his productions were being played out by the people he so admired and respected.
After several years of producing hard dance under Chrysus, Michael’s tastes changed and he began working on where his passions lay……in trance music. In the coming months Michael began work with Lee Haslam and his Digital Remedy imprint and it was soon apparent that he was destined for great things. His most noticeable achievement being his cover version of Brian Eno's "Ascent", which gained him massive notoriety all over the world when it was signed to Armin Van Buurens "Captivating Sounds". The track was a huge hit and was played on Armin’s Radio show five weeks in a row and received plays by Judge Jules & Dave Pearce on Radio One, Riley & Durrant & Paul Kershaw on Galaxy. Matt Darey’s Global Nocturnal show and on Corsten’s Countdown. It was this success that had made Michael one of the hottest up and coming talents in dance music.
In 2007 Michael was commissioned to do five remixes, which shows his production skills are globally acclaimed. Having completed one remix already this year for Digital Remedy and more on the cards, 2008 promises to be another busy year for the 21 year old South Londoner. Michael's sound continues to develop and morph, influenced by many sounds but not caged in by genre names. His work can range from uplifting trance like “Ascent”, to slower progressive sounds like “Rise & Fall” forthcoming on Digital Remedy and back up to the higher energy of full on tech trance track “Junglist”. This variety in styles gives Michael the unique opportunity for diversity during his sets, making him the perfect candidate for playing any time at an event, from warm up grooves to peak time energy packed beats; Michael Dow has it all.
His recent signing to Digital Remedy Management compounds his potential to be the next big thing and will ensure that he is a name that you will see on line up’s across the globe. For bookings please contact lee@digitalremedyrecordings.com
